Commercial Prop is a small, niche property company that specialises in sourcing real estate opportunities for speculation and investment purposes.
Carol’s colourful journey began in the small town of Pietermaritzburg, where she was born and raised. She matriculated with an A aggregate, and then went on to study Law and Psychology at the University of Natal. She was the top Psychology student in her year and she won the Juta Law Prize for graduating as the top Law student in 1996.
During her student years, she participated in beauty pageants and earned a living as a model. She won several local pageants including Miss Mardi Gras and Miss Kwa Zulu Natal, and then went on to win Miss Universe South Africa in 1996 and Miss Legs South Africa in 1998.
She represented South Africa at the Miss Universe Pageant in Las Vegas, and also at the Miss Globe Pageant in Turkey, where she was placed runner-up. In 1997, she represented South Africa at the Miss Tourism International in Greece, which she won.
Carol lived in Cape Town for ten years, where she worked as an international model both on the catwalk and also in television and print. Her entrepreneurial spirit kept her busy as an events manager and producer, and she co-ordinated the Sun City Spring Break as well as the Mr and Miss Jive beach contests for SABC 3 Holiday Fever and the M-Net Summer Festival for several years.
Other accolades include her work as a television presenter and show host, where she presented over 400 episodes of a British travel series.
Carol then settled down to have a family in 2002 and opened a chain of baby stores called Baby Inc. Her first store opened in Hout Bay, whereafter she franchised the business into five stores and sold it.
She relocated to Durban in 2008 to pursue a career in property – her life-long passion. She continues to work as a real estate professional, running Pam Golding Properties, Durban Coastal.
Carol has always been passionate about property and people, and she chooses to see the best in things. She enjoys projects and has embarked upon numerous property projects over the years. She likes to renovate and decorate homes, and offers advice to her clients in this regard.
She has a real interest in people, psychology and transformation, and hence stays involved in the world of health, beauty and fashion, where she participates in charity events.
Carol has recently completed a Masters Degree in Psychology, with a focus on performance coaching and driving success in others.
